OMG blown away right now … with my digital friend Claude, I was able to implement a pretty snazzy caching strategy using Deno KV (their edge key/value store) and properly set http caching headers including ETags 🎉
Uhhh got a deployed version of the site on Deno Deploy: nilsb-org-r97z19fs1sc7.deno.dev — pretty cool!
Now I just have to figure out how to handle content updates/caching.. #deno #fresh #indieweb
Man typescript drives me nuts sometimes … the handler function in Deno Fresh gets the data, has the right types applied and then in the function to render the page, types are “any” for the data coming in from props … grrrr
uhhh while standing in the kitchen to start prepping dinner for the family I thought “hmmm I really wanna try Deno Fresh and it would be awesome to just grab posts from Notion …”.
Sooo let’s do it! Starting a hack session! #deno #fresh #indieweb
One of my favorite UI fails in Mac OS is the fact that the “Eject” and “Erase” options for any external media are directly next to each other in the context menu … 🫠
Frozen lakes are a spooky thing no? Everything’s so peaceful when it’s so cold, no movement anywhere but still you know that you don’t know how thick the ice is or how deep the lake is.. very moody all in all :)

Huuuiii everything’s frozen over here (Offenbach am Main, Germany) and I love it! 🥰 So peaceful in the forest during my inspirational walks in the morning.
Loving that new habit by the way! I wander around with the camera and sometimes speak with Ai Claude to plan podcast scripts

Amazing sunset but freezing cold -4° in Offenbach, but the sun is shining. 🥶☀️🌄
A day like these I really love my morning walking routine routine just talking to my friend Clau and my phone planning new podcast episodes. This is just really nice mode of working.

Focus is an interesting concept is it not? The fact that you can really only sorta see one thing at a time.. fascinating somehow.
I’m usually not this type of person who takes out of focus images deliberately but in this case, I like the blurry version a little better even. Wdyt? #photography #night
Speaking of building your own tools: My friend and co-founder Daniel made this thing which one can interact with ChatGPT style but it’s aware of aaaaallll the content we put over the years pulled from @sanity.io ‘s content lake. It even uses custom embeddings to be efficient with tokens.. so cool.
Making your own tools is a really satisfying experience. Kinda had this expectation that something would probably not realllly work out in the end but I kept pushing for it, and now I can just happily record any meeting and have it be summarized and sent to our notion db — 🪄

Ouuhh just worked with Deno for the first time. Man … I was hoping it would be exactly like this 😅. From my very minimal POV it’s really everything I wanted from NodeJS in the past years 🙌.
Here’s another shot from the Palmengarten at night.
I’d like to point out that I can’t take credit for the picture as my 7 year old took that shot.
I cleaned a bit but the whole composition was his idea.
Another visit to one of my favorite places, the Palmengarten in Frankfurt. This time in the evening to see their annual lights festival.

Spoiler alert: You know who Seinfeld ends with the group being in jail for all the despicable things they did? When I interact with car drivers in Germany — where a car is almost as valuable as your the first born in other cultures — I sorta get how you just have to become cynical like Jerry and co.
It’s no secret to people who know me that I don’t really care for cars. It’s not the cars fault.. it was a fine invention and all but they just bring out the worst in people.
Today on the local supermarket lot an SUV parked on two spots. I was told „otherwise people dent my 150k€ car“.
Ok Boomer…
